Whitewater Rodeo

Get ready to throw down on the Backyard Play Wave! Participants will have two 45-second runs on the wave and one on the surf wave rock, water-level permitting. Judges will score surfs on wave entry, stabilization, movement, and steeeeez. Kayaks, packrafts, and spectators welcome!

Logistics

Meet at the public boat launch on the Nenana @ Denali Park Village, 231 Parks Highway. A shuttle will be available to the the Grassy Knoll put-in (Mile Marker 222 Parks Highway) for particants. Spectators will have to arrange their own shuttle (for insurance reasons–sorry!).

The Play Wave is a 5-mile paddle from the put-in. Spectators will be asked to leave the surf wave open for safety and participants. The take-out at Denali Park Village is a 6-mile paddle from the Play Wave with one Class III rapid. See the River Info section for more info.
